SNAP/EBT CARDS ACCEPTED!

City Market Farmers' Market accepts the state issued Electronic Benefit Transfer Cards from Missouri, Kansas and all other federally approved states.

Formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federally funded program which delivers monthly benefits to 35 million Americans nationwide.

Subscribers to the SNAP program can swipe their card at the information tent for their desired dollar amount and in exchange, receive that amount in City Market Farmers' Market SNAP/EBT tokens and use with dozens of approved Farmers' Market Vendors.

SNAP/EBT transactions are only done during the Farmers' Market on Saturdays and Sundays. Look for rhe yellow information tent located at the City Market arch at 5th and Walnut. For more information call 816-842-1271.

A new addition is Beans and Greans which can add up to an additional 10 tokens per visit per person.

FARMERS' MARKET DEBIT TOKENS

Short on cash at the Farmers' Market? Head to the yellow information tent and use your debit card to get tokens! Just swipe your debit card as you would at any store, select an amount in $5 increments and you will get that amount back in tokens worth $5 to the Farmers' Market vendors. $1 convenience fee per transaction. May not be used at City Market / River Market stores or restaurants. Debit token transactions will only be done on Saturdays and Sundays during Farmers' Market hours at the yellow information tent located at the City Market arch at 5th and Walnut.

Located at 21 East 3rd Street in the Market Square, the Farm to Table Kitchen is a commercially licensed kitchen that’s available to rent on an hourly basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the exception of specific times during the Farmers' Market on the weekend.

The Farm to Table Kitchen offers a convenient location for Farmers' Market vendors wanting to enhance their products, as well as serving as an alternative site for caterers and food artisans currently in compliance with the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department.

The Farm to Table Kitchen will incorporate an educational component for both vendors and consumers covering a variety of topics including food safety, food handling, preparation and general nutrition.  Plus various cooking demonstrations and sampling during the Farmers' Market throughout the year.
