Grab your partner, and cut a rug at SWINGIN’ SUNSET AT CITY MARKET, Saturday, July 21, 7:30-10:00 p.m. with the Kansas Citians Big Band presented by City Market and the Philharmonia of Greater KC. Jump n’ jive to the best of 30s & 40s swing and enjoy an astounding aerial swing performance by Moondrop Circus. Special guest emcee and local television personality, Joel Nichols, will keep the program hopping.
Wear your dancing shoes and bring a chair. Prizes will be awarded for Best Dancers, Best Dressed and more. Not a dancer? Just come and enjoy the scene. New to dancing? Show up at 7:00 pm for SWING 101, a 30-minute crash course in basic steps from the pros at KC Lindy Hop.
Try your hand at playing one of many instruments in the musical petting zoo. Enjoy refreshing cocktails and other beverages provided by Tom’s Town Distilling Co. Grab something delicious at one of your favorite City Market restaurants. Shared picnic tables will be available.
Admission is FREE as is our weekend parking. Enter at 5th & Walnut. Or take the KC Streetcar. All ages are welcome. A valid ID is required to purchase alcoholic beverages.
